During the first field work day in Kap Stosch we went down to Blue River to do systematic sampling of fossils, and it went very well.
The day continued with finding a new fish horizon, clams and ammonites. And even more mussels. The idea was to walk downstream to the delta, but we were stopped downstream from the fish horizon. We could force our way through one ice tunnel, but unfortunately not the others.
We must attack the Blue River from the other direction, which involves walking around the mountain and starting downstream. But we’re saving that for another day. None of us are really rehabilitated after last week’s work.
Now it will be a late dinner as usual, we are hungry!
