Today was the first time in three days it didn’t rain. We were glad to see the sun and take off all our heavy jackets. Before we set out for the day, we had another encounter with the polar bears. Luckily, this time we saw them from across the fjord at long distance.

The plan for the day was to take more surveys at our locations from the previous week. Unexpectedly, we didn’t see any major change from our active readings.

After we were done taking the surveys, the plan was to visit a nearby glacier. However, we were unable to reach it because of a strong stream.

The options for the camp’s kitchen was limited. Either we could choose freeze fried cod fish or various kinds of soup. People don’t seem to be complaining too much since we are all hungry after a long day of hiking. The camp’s spirit seems to be high since we know this will be our last day in the field camp. Also, the nice weather helps.
