It’s a nice feeling to wake up in a tent which is warmed up by the sun. 🙂 The first thing today was some panorama photography in the camp, the second to repair the 12V charger for the computer – otherwise there wouldn’t have been more entries here. After some electronic repair with a Leatherman multitool the charger is functional again, but without protection for wrong polarity anymore… I just finished my ”repair” when the others turned up for breakfast.
Thereafter we went out for another trip through the geological units close by the camp, did some sampling of the uppermost units which we didn’t see yesterday and of a remarkable marker horizon, a quartzite that is present in most of northern Prins Karls Forland.
If the weather is also favourable tomorrow, we will go to Bouréefjellet to investigate the Pinkie Formation with its metabasites, a candidate for an equivalent to the high grade metamorphic rocks found last year farther south, in westernmost Nordenskiöld Land and earlier in Wedel Jarlsberg Land, the ”missing member” in the succession we have seen the last two days when compared to southern Spitsbergen.
