On 18 July a Swedish researcher will participate in an expedition in the Arctic Ocean with the German research vessel Polarstern.

The overarching objective of this study is to further improve our understanding of the carbon system in the rapidly changing Arctic Ocean system and its adjacent sub-regions. The researchers aim at improving the understanding of the feedbacks by physical and biogeochemical processes across the boundaries between the Arctic Ocean and the north Atlantic with respect to the distribution of the seawater CO2 system, air-sea CO2 fluxes, transport of anthropogenic CO2, biological oxygen supersaturation, and net community production.
